Time and time again, you can have a better product or service and the person with better relationships will always get more business. That’s what is meant by business is about people and relationships. People spend money, especially big money, with those they like, know, and trust. To be in a relationship, you have to be liked, which leads to being known, and finally, trust is built. So clients have a choice, they are going to go with who they are in a relationship with. Let’s talk about 4 ways to build and utilize relationships for your business.

  1. Connection in Content. Content is king because through exposure to your content, your audience feels like they know you. The more content you produce, the more touchpoints to add to the trust. Even those that already know you, are cemented in trust when you consistently tell them who you serve and how. Build a tribe, show up for your tribe by giving them value through your content, and watch them show up for you.

2.  Strategic Partnerships. Content can also lead to mutually beneficial partnerships. Potential clients aren’t the only ones that are impacted by your content, so are potential partnerships. My first annual summit was filled with 30 speakers that gave of their time and their expertise for my audience. I am available to do the same. We support each other’s businesses by adding value that results in more sales. That’s just one type of partnership. You can also partner with someone that has a large audience of your ideal avatar to share information with their audience and sell something at the end of the presentation; percentage of sales going the partner.

  1. Network for Net Worth. Think of one large dot and then an endless number of smaller dots connected to it. Some of the smaller dots are also connected to each and to other dots that do not intermingle with those that connect to the larger dot. YOU are the larger dot and your network are all those smaller dots (some connected to each other and some not). The goal of a business network is to have the smaller dots spread the word about you to other smaller dots not connected to you. This makes the possible pool of people to sell to infinite. You are not just relying on who you know, but also having who knows you to transfer their like, know, and trust of you to those connected to them that don’t yet know you. Truly endless connections and possible clients for your business.

4. Affili-ATE your fans. Take the fans of your business and create a program where they can be paid a commission for sharing your business and using their influence to sell your offer. This is like creating a sales team from your current clients, past clients, would be clients, etc… Word of mouth is still the best marketing that leads to sales. Giving the incentive of a commission payment as fuel to the word of mouth efforts.
