				<div class="et_pb_text_inner"><p>I’ve loved her from watching her <a href="https://www.hbo.com/insecure">HBO series Insecure</a> and from her answer to the question referring to the 2017 Emmy Awards, <em>“Who are you rooting for tonight?”</em> when she responded, <em>“I’m rooting for everybody Black.”</em>  I have had the pleasure of seeing Issa Rae speak at a live, business conference, and was reinforced in my love of her personality, way of thinking, and entrepreneurial spirit. At that event, she said that she attributes her success to being <em>“very much about reading and watching others’ blueprints.”</em> Recently, I discovered her sessions on the Masterclass platform called <a href="https://www.masterclass.com/classes/issa-rae-teaches-creating-outside-the-lines">Issa Rae Teaches Creating Outside The Lines</a>. Again, she talked about following and creating blueprints for success.</p>
<p>In this day and age, more than a few of the small businesses that do well are led by people of influence. Either they had influence first and went into business successfully OR they went into business and became influencers to transfer that success to their business. In recent conversations with entrepreneurs, I realized more context is needed for creating content. For content 101, I teach the rule of 3 that touches 4 different areas of content. You’ll be more comfortable being a content creator in no time.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Formats.</strong> There are 3 formats of content: 1) written, 2) visual, and 3) audio. These three content formats cater to different sensory preferences and communication styles, allowing creators to engage with diverse audiences effectively. <em>Written</em> like social media and blog posts. <em>Visuals</em> like graphics and video.<em> Audio</em> like podcasts and mp3. <strong><em>Written</em></strong> content, such as engaging social media updates and informative blog posts, can capture attention through well-crafted words and convey complex ideas. <strong><em>Visual</em></strong> content, including compelling graphics and dynamic videos, appeals to our visual nature, enabling information to be quickly absorbed and understood. On the other hand, <strong><em>audio</em></strong> content, like insightful podcasts and versatile MP3 files, taps into the power of sound, creating immersive experiences that listeners can enjoy on-the-go or during other activities. By harnessing the strengths of these formats, entrepreneurs can establish a multi-faceted presence and connect with your ideal client on various levels.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Strategies.</strong> There are 3 strategies for creating content: 1) to build visibility, 2) to build a community, and 3) to build profits. This translates to three reasons to create content: to <em>build visibility</em> as an expert in your field, to cultivate and nurture a <em>community</em> of followers, and to <em>share your products</em> and services without being too salesy. These content creation strategies offer a comprehensive roadmap for achieving distinct objectives in the digital landscape. Firstly, focusing on <strong><em>building visibility</em></strong> positions you as a knowledgeable authority within your niche, allowing you to showcase your expertise and thought leadership. Secondly, the strategy of <strong><em>building a community</em></strong> fosters meaningful connections with your audience, fostering engagement, discussions, and a sense of belonging that transcends transactional interactions. Lastly, taking the approach of <strong><em>building profits</em></strong> lets you showcase your offerings in a genuine and informative manner, allowing potential customers to understand the value your products or services bring, without resorting to pushy sales tactics. By strategically combining these approaches, you can create a well-rounded content strategy that not only boosts your credibility and community but also contributes to your business&#8217;s sustainable growth and success.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Subject Matter Type.</strong> There are 3 subject matter types for good content: 1) education, 2) engagement, and 3) entertainment. <em>Educate</em> your readers by sharing guides, tips, tools, and information from your expertise. <em>Engage</em> by sharing motivation, inspiration, personal moments, and interactive opportunities. <em>Entertain</em> by sharing posts that are funny, nostalgic, etc&#8230; They serve as the foundation for creating well-rounded and captivating content that resonates with your audience. <strong>Education</strong> empowers your readers with valuable insights and practical knowledge, establishing you as a reliable source of information within your field. <strong>Engagement</strong> sparks meaningful connections by tapping into emotions, experiences, and relatable anecdotes, fostering a deeper and more authentic relationship with your followers. <strong>Entertainment </strong>injects a sense of joy and amusement into your content mix, providing a refreshing break from the routine and making your platform a source of enjoyment. By seamlessly weaving these subject matter types together, you can craft a content strategy that not only informs and engages but also adds an element of enjoyment to your audience&#8217;s online experience.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Locations.</strong> Finally, pick 3 platforms to publish your content; 1) a star, 2) a secondary, and 3) a seed. The <strong>star</strong> platform is your main platform and your ideal client should be there looking for the information and solutions you have to share. It is important that you create content how this platform demands it and with the most consistency to receive the ultimate reach. The <strong>secondary</strong> platform is your next important platform and much like the star platform, your ideal client should be there looking for you. You can be a little more relaxed with the consistency but you definitely want to be sure to give value. The <strong>seed</strong> platform is where you will simply repurpose content and keep your feelers out to see if your content picks up traction here. In fact, you should keep up with your numbers for all three platforms to see when the tide turns and you may need to switch up the ranking.</p>

The social media algorithms don’t help when they are stifling your reach to the people that signed up to receive it, but the research is clear that a single potential client has to see a single offer on average 7 times before they will buy. On top of that, potential clients have to like, know, and trust you before ever buying anything. There are different ways to be visible, but this is about drilling home what your silence is costing you.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Reduced brand recognition.</strong> Visibility plays a crucial role in building brand recognition. Your brand is NOT a logo or colors; instead, it is what you promise and how people can expect to experience you and/or your service over and over again. If a business remains silent and lacks visibility, it becomes harder for customers to remember and recognize the brand. This can impact customer loyalty and repeat business.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Limited networking opportunities.</strong> It absolutely cannot be debated that your network adds to your net worth. People go to prominent schools, join Greek societies, and more to expand their resources and reach. Being silent and invisible can hinder networking opportunities, both with potential clients and industry peers. Networking is crucial for business growth as it helps build connections, partnerships, affiliates, and referrals. Without a visible presence, businesses may struggle to access these opportunities.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Reduced credibility and trust.</strong> Silence and lack of visibility can erode credibility and trust. Customers may question the expertise and reliability of a business that has little presence or public information available. This lack of trust can impact customer acquisition and revenue generation. Let’s face it, if they don’t see you often enough then they wonder if you’ll be around when they need you or when they have a problem.</p>

				<div class="et_pb_text_inner"><p style="text-align: justify;">If marketing is all about building relationships, then how what kind of relationship do you need to build to sell a high-ticket offer? Well, if we go with the old analogy of dating… what would dating need to be to get to marriage? Most people need more of an investment from you to make a big commitment. For this reason, it is harder to sell high-ticket offers in a single interaction. Prolong the engagement with a runway of touch points and interactions to spend more time with your ideal client. Your goal is to give them the opportunity to like, know, and trust you to the extent that they will invest top dollar with you. Here are four trigger events that can be connected to a funnel to make the marketing runway long enough to get to the payday.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Lead magnets.</strong> Freebies are great, but no one is signing up for weak checklists or newsletters. Your ideal client is looking for value worth their time. The newest value-packed lead magnets of choice are free pre-recorded trainings, free mini-courses, and assessments… These opportunities can be extended from your social posts, live streams, blog posts, speeches, guest interviews, etc… The funnel can look like this:<br />lead magnet &gt; free training w/offer pitch&gt; short-term training topic-specific nurture emails &gt; free micro-coaching session w/offer re-pitch &gt; follow up promo emails</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Paid Ads. </strong>If you see an ad for a high-ticket offer it is usually a retargeting ad that was triggered after you saw or interacted with something else from that company. Ads to cold traffic garner better results when they are used to list build, especially with free events with high perceived value. Now is not the time to give them what they need. Instead, what event could you have that your ideal client would jump at the chance to attend? You gotta give them what they want. The event can be one day or multiple days but it should definitely be the beginning of a funnel. <p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Tiny offers.</strong> Free is great but making a buck is better. High-ticket offers do not have to be your first offer. Make a tiny offer to still bring in some money and get them into your ecosphere to travel the road to your high-ticket offer. Potential clients that have paid something, no matter how low, are better leads than people that could only be collecting freebies. Turn your highest-producing pieces of training into a paid workshop or challenge. Add downloads to make it even more valuable and viola… you have a great tiny offer. These offers usually range anywhere from $27 to $197. But there are a lot of prices between zero and high-ticket. <p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Content.</strong> As often as you can post, stream, and share tips and strategies is as often as you should have a call to action (CTA). However, the CTA doesn’t always have to be your high-ticket offer. With content bringing in cold traffic and warm traffic, something free or a tiny offer is a great way to go. Here’s a map to follow:<br /><em>value giving content &gt; invite to sign up for a lead magnet or grab the tiny offer &gt; pick up above with whichever option you selected and finish the funnel…</em></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">If you haven’t peeped it by now, leading with a high-ticket offer when would-be clients haven’t gotten to like, know, and trust you enough for a high-ticket investment is a mistake. I’ve seen many entrepreneurs try it, only to experience their audience respond with a resounding “I don’t like, know, or trust you enough to pay that much!” Well, they didn’t say it straight out… but they didn’t buy either.</p>

				<div class="et_pb_text_inner"><p style="text-align: justify;">Television, radio, publication, and even social media advertising are the pay-to-play vehicles of choice today to get more eyes in front of your offers. Like anything else in life, when you don’t want to pay in money, you pay in elbow grease. Here are 4 considerations for creating content to bring awareness to what you sell.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Create Pillars.</strong> The easiest way to create content is to start by posting a large piece of content and then parcel it out to post pieces of the larger content. An example of that is to create a blog post like this one that has distinct sections built into it. Then use each section as separate follow-up posts. Another example is creating a long video and then pulling clips from that video to create follow-up content.  </p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Short &amp; Long-Term.</strong> Social media is short-term content because its shelf life expires quickly. Your audience pays attention to it for only a short period of time before they require new and fresh content from you to keep their attention. However, you can create content that gets attention over longer periods of time. Did you know YouTube is NOT a social media platform? It is, in fact, a search platform -the #2 largest search platform. The first largest search engine is Google. So with great SEO, your blog post on your website is a great piece of long-term content. But the videos you place on YouTube with a focus on timeless value (evergreen) can garner attention for years. Go search a subject matter on YouTube and then pay attention to when that video was first published. Don’t miss the opportunity to garner attention for years with great evergreen content.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Themes.</strong> Sometimes it is hard to come up with what you should create content on. My answer to that is to create content in themes. You can create weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual or even annual themes that frame the information that you share during that time. The best themes to create for a business are ones around the pain points of their client avatar. It is also easy to use your framework, formula, or key solution categories to create content. So create series, episodes, and themes for content to keep it going easily over the content year.  </p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Round-Ups.</strong> Often a phrase used in the media when they write an article that includes quotes from multiple sources, a round-up is a great strategy for your content too. Use the power of including your business associates, your clients, and your favorite gurus or influencers in your content. Most often those people will share your content with their audience because you mentioned them. You can include a group of them in one article or if you are creating a series or episodes, then you can include one or a few in each piece of content of that series. You have just multiplied the number of eyes on your content to include not only the audience that follows you, but also the audience that follows them.</p>
